Chartreuse Swizzle

Flavor profile: vibrant, herbaceous, and citrusy with tropical pineapple and spice. A crushed-ice crowd-pleaser that bridges tiki and botanical cocktails.

Serves: 1 • Time: 3 minutes • Difficulty: Easy

Ingredients

  • 1½ oz green Chartreuse
  • ½ oz falernum
  • 1½ oz pineapple juice
  • ¾ oz fresh lime juice
  • Crushed ice

Garnish

  • Dehydrated pineapple wheel (Bar Necessities)
  • Freshly grated nutmeg
  • Maraschino or brandied cherry

Instructions

  1. Fill a Collins glass halfway with crushed ice.
  2. Add green Chartreuse, falernum, pineapple juice, and lime juice.
  3. Swizzle (or stir) until frosty and well-chilled.
  4. Top with more crushed ice to mound.
  5. Garnish with a dehydrated pineapple wheel, a light dusting of nutmeg, and a cherry.

Tips & Variations

  • Split base: replace ½ oz Chartreuse with ½ oz lightly funky Jamaican rum for extra tropical depth.
  • Bitters: 1–2 dashes of aromatic bitters add warm spice.
  • Mocktail idea: use pineapple + lime + ginger syrup; top with soda and finish with nutmeg and a pineapple wheel.
